Student Behavior Policies

Code Distribution and Accessibility

The district will provide the conduct and discipline code to every student at the time of enrollment in elementary, middle, and high school. The district will take appropriate steps to ensure students understand and are familiar with the code requirements. Each school will maintain accessible copies of the code, either through posting or filing systems. When significant changes are made to the code, updated versions will be distributed to all students and displayed in every school.

Student Conduct Expectations

Students are expected to behave in a manner appropriate to their developmental level and maturity. This includes:

  • Respecting the authority of all district employees who have been given supervisory responsibilities by the Board
  • Recognizing that all school activities serve educational purposes
  • Being mindful that district facilities and resources are shared by the entire school community
  • Protecting the rights, safety, and well-being of fellow students and staff members

Staff Responsibilities

All district employees share the responsibility for monitoring student behavior and ensuring compliance with the conduct and discipline code. This collaborative approach helps maintain a positive learning environment throughout the district.

District or School-Wide PBIS

At the Junior/Senior High School level, students are recognized through a formal Student of the Month program utilizing a nomination-based selection process.

District-wide, the Golden Apple recognition program honors outstanding staff members from both schools through nominations and administrative selections.
