Strong, definitive plans in place to support curriculum development for 26-27 school year; backwards design planning is being proposed as a mechanism to support this process
There is a need to develop a cohesive, district-wide standards-based curriculum, created collaboratively with input from all stakeholders and supported by strong vertical articulation to ensure alignment and eliminate gaps across grade levels.
K-12 literacy plan has been designed and is in the approval stage
Establishing a systematic process for ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum across all subject areas will be essential to ensure consistency, quality, and continuous improvement.
The district is strengthening student support and instructional coherence through MTSS coordination for RTI processes, expanded learning opportunities such as advisory and after-school tutoring at the JSHS, and a district-wide focus on clear learning targets.There is a need for more intentional planning to ensure consistent cognitive rigor, alongside expanded support systems for MLL, newcomer, and gifted students, and a broader range of instructional strategies that promote student ownership of learning.
